Core Values and Commitments

Our Core Values are values that form the foundation on which we live out our passions.

  1. Dependence on Prayer:  Just as the Bible offers us spiritual food, prayer is like spiritual breathing. Whether we realize it or not, we are 100% dependent on God for every second of life. Talking to God is a vital aspect of walking with Him through life. (1 Thess. 5:17)
  2. Servant Leadership:  True leadership cannot exist apart from service. Jesus came to serve, and he has left that example for us to follow. We are most like Him when we are serving others. Therefore, as we take steps to be more like him, we will find ourselves serving others more and more. (Eph. 2:8-10)
  3. Family Strengthening:  We recognize that the family is one of the greatest gifts God has given us. We will come along side families to build strong marriages and equip parents to raise their children in a God honoring way, while offering children a fun and exciting environment to explore their own faith. (Joshua 24:15b)

Our Core Commitments are the things we, as a church, covenant together to remain steadfastly committed to.

  1. The Full Sufficiency of the Word of God: The Bridge Community has an unflinching commitment to the Bible as God’s revealed truth. The Word of God shows us God’s way of salvation and offers us all the direction we need to live a joyful life that is pleasing to our Maker. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
  2. Missional Community: The gospel makes us a community that exists for others. We will invest in redemptive relationships, and sacrifice for our community. Members of the Bridge Community will be the effectual bridges that connect the hope of the gospel to the community. In other words, if you are a member, you are a missionary! (2 Cor. 5:18-20)
  3. Multiplying: Our hope is not simply to develop a really neat community, but to become a catalyst in launching many healthy churches. We will demonstrate generosity toward church planting in Utah, and commit to weave the multiplication mindset deep into our DNA by launching another church from our congregation before we secure our own permanent facilities. (Matt. 28:19)
