Our Dream

As of our arrival here in South Davis County, a person would be more likely to meet an evangelical Christian in Iraq, or Syria than he or she would here.  Our eager expectation and hope is that The Bridge Community will radically change the Spiritual Landscape of South Davis County (and Utah in General) by planting a multiplying, missional church, which, in response to the gospel, is passionate about the worship, Word, and work of God.

Let me unpack that dream just a bit by clarifying some of the terms involved.

• Multiplying- We desire to be a catalyst for  church planting in the area, and in Utah more generally.
• Missional- We aim to be a community of passionate believers who carry out the work of God as ministers of reconciliation.
• Worship of God- Worship consists of saying great things about God, meaning it with our heat, and living it with our lives.  We will breathe life into Davis County by worshiping God in spirit and truth.
• Word of God- We believe in the sufficiency of the Scriptures,.  It is through the Bible we come to know the One True God and the salvation He so freely and gracefully extends to all who place their full faith and confidence in Him.
• Work of God- Living in response to the gospel implies living from the cross.  That is, knowing what God has done for us, and in us, we are transformed to live for Him, and in His power.  The Lord has equipped us to be ministers of reconciliation in the city He has placed us in.  We hope to continue Christ’s mission to seek and save the lost, to bind the wounded and broken hearted, and to grow His followers in obedience as a response to His saving grace.

We are building a family of people who –seeing the unreached nature of South Davis County, and understanding clearly the desire the Lord has that His people would go and plant worshiping communities in unreached places to seek and save the lost — share a common vision for disciple making and building in South Davis County.
